I believe that all people can learn.

I believe that good research doesn’t have to be expensive. It’s about thinking things through at the beginning and making smart choices.

And I love doing research from A-Z — figuring out what literature to read, which questions to ask, how best to collect and analyze data, and how best to implement research insights.

That’s why I work with edtech start-ups, mediamakers, schools and school districts, educational non-profits, and innovative companies — because I get to spearhead well-designed research that supports meaningful learning and doesn’t break the bank.

I do this by leveraging my deep expertise in educational psychology, my years of experience designing research, validating assessments, and analyzing big data, and my superstrong work ethic. (Caffeine also helps!)

I earned a Ph.D. in Education from UC Irvine and a B.A. from UCLA, double-majoring in Psychology and German (and minoring in French and Francophone Studies, as if the two bachelor’s degrees weren’t rigorous enough!). After a one-year postdoctoral position at UCLA’s Graduate School of Education and Information Sciences, I joined the National Center for Research on Evaluation, Standards, and Student Testing (CRESST) as a Senior Researcher. During my three years there, I worked as a psychometrician and evaluator for clients such as the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium and PBS KIDS.

Oh, and I also developed a game for the iPad available on the App Store called Down With Food. Check it out to see how research is put into action!

I’d love to learn more about your organization and help you support your learners’ success.
